The Helpers Club Inc. was founded in 2023 by Dr. Dennis Alvarez and his wife Kirsten Alvarez who own a private practice in Houston, TX. They recognized the need for free peer support and mental health resources and decided to create an organization to help others succeed in their mental health journeys, goals, and challenges. The organization aims to set up in-person and worldwide free online peer support groups, and raise funds to offer equine therapy in the near future to their patients and the community, as well as any traditional forms of therapy that may be needed by an individual and/or their families.
